Visit the Big Golden Guitar and Australian Country Music Hall of Fame before immersing yourself in the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Round it all out with our exclusive Aussie Day celebration at Bestbrook Mountain Resort—whip-cracking, chicken racing and a surprise celebrity guest!

Today we explore Armidale, beginning at the award-winning Deano’s Smoked Trout, where we sample the products and learn about the processes behind this unique farm. At Peterson’s Winery, we wander through the English-inspired gardens to the rustic cellar door. After a guided wine tasting, enjoy lunch in the shade of the beautiful heritage gardens. Later, we join a locally guided tour of Armidale’s historic buildings, including a visit to the Regional Art Gallery.

TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL

Departing Armidale, we head to Tamworth’s iconic Big Golden Guitar for a quick photo, then visit the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame. Enjoy free concerts, buskers, bush poets, line dancing, and the Fanzone Stage at the Tamworth Country Music Festival before returning to Armidale late afternoon.‍**Lunch is at your own expense today at the festival.

ARMIDALE - BRISBANE

Today we head for home via a morning tea break at Tenterfield. We then continue on to Bestbrook Mountain Resort, where a special treat awaits with our very own Fun Over 50 Holidays Australia Day celebrations. We have arranged a very special ‘celebrity guest appearance’ to help us celebrate! From whip-cracking to chicken racing, you will be in stitches with the ‘Aussie Fun’ we have in store for you before and during lunch. Cancellation policies vary depending on the tour type and operator. Generally, cancellations made 60+ days before departure receive a full refund minus a small admin fee. Cancellations 30-60 days forfeit 50% of the tour cost, and within 30 days forfeit the full amount. We strongly recommend travel insurance to protect your investment.

Many of our coach and rail tours are suitable for people with limited mobility, though some walking is usually required at destinations. Please discuss your specific needs with our team when booking.
